Refined vintage Japanese lacquered jewelry box with music box and ballerina, featuring a black lacquered structure decorated with golden Oriental landscapes and iridescent inlays. Its aesthetic recalls classic 20th‑century Japanese jewelry boxes, with a shaped roof, multiple small drawers, and a side door with an interior mirror and ballerina. The piece shows light wear on the lacquer, consistent with age, while one of the door handles has been reconstructed, as well as the decorative tassel and one of the ballerina’s arms—interventions carried out to preserve both functionality and visual harmony.
When the side door is opened, the working music box activates the ballerina, which rotates with a delicate, nostalgic movement. The combination of lacquer decoration, internal drawers, and musical mechanism makes this a sought‑after piece with strong visual impact.
