Charming Japanese lacquered jewelry box, adorned with decorations depicting traditional landscapes with pagodas and trees typical of Japanese craftsmanship. The interior is lined with pink fabric and features a mirror in front of which a dancing couple performs when the music box is activated. The structure is divided into multiple compartments, ideal for storing jewelry and small personal items.
The music box is fully functional and plays a delicate melody when the lid is opened. Signs of wear and restoration are present on the external lacquer and on the mirror: over time, the lacquer has lost some of its original shine, making the restored areas more visible under direct light, as shown in the photos. The rear cover of the small upper compartment appears to be missing. The internal fabric also shows light wear consistent with the age of the piece. The key is not included.
Despite these interventions, the jewelry box retains strong aesthetic appeal and good collectible value, thanks to the functioning music box and the rarity of the model featuring a dancing couple.
