Wall‑mounted holy water font in polychrome ceramic depicting the crowned Madonna and Child, framed within a decorative and theatrical setting. The composition, typical of domestic devotional art, is enriched by delicate pastel tones in shades of blue, pink and ivory, with gilded accents highlighting the crowns, the cross and the ornamental profiles.
The Virgin, wrapped in a blue mantle, holds the Child in a tender, frontal pose characteristic of early‑20th‑century serial religious production, intended for bedrooms, entryways or private prayer spaces. The holy water basin is integrated into the lower section, featuring a soft and harmonious shape that balances the vertical structure of the piece.
From a conservation perspective, the holy water font shows restorations: some parts have been re‑glued, while one hand and a portion of the basin’s rim have been reconstructed. These interventions are functional and preserve the pleasant decorative and devotional appearance. Normal signs of age and small abrasions to the gilding are consistent with the period.
